HINSDALE, Ill. - Crespi Carmelite secured its spot in the quarterfinals of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with a 68-42 win over Perspectives MSA.

Crespi Carmelite (10-1) scored the game’s first six points on three-pointers from Billy Oxley and Tai Regans. Leading 16-9 after the first quarter, the Celts outscored Perspectives 18-7 in the second quarter to carry a 34-16 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Celts continued to pull away in the second half, leading by as many as 27 points in the third quarter and 29 in the fourth before earning the 26-point victory.

Marquan Williams paced Perspectives (4-5) with 18 points while DeAndre Lightfoot added 10 points. Perspectives finished the contest shooting 28.3 percent (15-of-53) from the field, including 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from long distance.

De’Anthony Melton paced Crespi Carmelite in the win, finishing with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six assists and four steals. Brandon Williams added 13 points and six boards for Crespi Carmelite.

Crespi Carmelite will face Hinsdale Central in Monday’s (December 28) quarterfinal at 8:30 p.m. Perspectives will meet Crete-Monee in the consolation round on Monday at 2:00 p.m.
