HINSDALE, Ill. - Trayvon Tyler scored a game-high 36 points to guide Rockford Auburn to an 83-69 win over Westinghouse and into the second round of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Tyler was on fire in the first half, pouring in 23 points while shooting 10-of-13 from the floor. Despite the strong performance in the first 16 minutes, the Knights led Westinghouse (5-5) by just seven (38-31) at halftime.

Rockford Auburn (10-2) was able to push its lead to double digits late in the third quarter after a layup from Juwane Parchman. Westinghouse came no closer than a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter as Rockford Auburn sealed the game from the foul line, hitting 9-of-12 free throws in the final two minutes.

Tyler flirted with a triple-double, finishing one rebound and two steals shy. He finished the contest with 36 points, nine rebounds and eight steals. He shot 13-of-17 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the foul line. Parchman reached a double-double with 15 points and a team-best 10 rebounds. Daevion Dixon also reached double figures in scoring, finishing with 15.

Rockford finished the contest shooting an even 50.0 percent (27-of-54) from the floor. The Knights sealed the game from the free throw line, hitting 24-of-38 attempts (63.2 percent).

Coreyoun Rushin paced Westinghouse in the loss, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Joshua Roberts added 15 points while Lamonte Lumpkins added 10 points and eight rebounds. Westinghouse finished the contest shooting 47.6 percent (30-of-63) from the floor, but struggled from the foul line, hitting just 3-of-13 (23.1 percent).

Rockford Auburn will face Homewood-Flossmoor on Monday, December 28, in a 5:15 p.m. quarterfinal matchup. With the loss, Westinghouse will take-on Lincoln Park in a consolation game on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
