HINSDALE, Ill. - Craig Atkins scored 26 points to lead DePaul College Prep to a 55-39 win over Richards in the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Atkins pumped in 26 points, shooting 9-of-14 from the floor and 7-of-10 from the free throw line to lead the Rams in the victory.

After an even first quarter (8-8), DePaul (6-8) took control of the contest with an 11-4 run to open the second quarter. The Rams led by as many as 10 in the quarter and brought a 27-19 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Richards (7-7) cut the deficit down to four points midway through the third quarter, but came no closer for the duration of the contest as DePaul outscored the Bulldogs 17-9 in the fourth quarter en route to the 55-39 win.

Richards had no answer for Atkins. In addition to the 26 points he scored, he dished out five assists and totaled nine steals, helping DePaul score 20 points off of 17 Richards’ turnovers. Perry Cown added 11 points for DePaul while Toni Sudimac added 10 points and five boards. DePaul shot an even 50.0 percent (19-of-38) from the floor, including 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from three-point range.

Richards was led by Jaylann Catledge’s 17 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 7-of-14 from the field in the loss. Juwuan Reed added six points and six rebounds in the loss.
