HINSDALE, Ill. - Rockford Auburn breezed into the fifth-place game of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with an 80-51 win over Richards.

Rockford Auburn (11-3) scored the game’s first 11 points and never looked back, leading from wire-to-wire en route to the 29-point victory. The Knights led 23-5 after the first quarter and 37-18 at the half. Rockford Auburn continued to pull away in the second half, leading by as many as 32 points before coasting to the victory.

The Knights shot a blistering 56.4 percent (31-of-55) from the floor and outscored Richards (7-6) 54-34 in the paint. Rockford Auburn’s defense forced 25 turnovers that they converted into 35 points. The Knights also scored 32 points on the fast break compared to Richard’s eight points.

Five players reached double figures in scoring to lead the Knights. Juwane Parchman led the way with 19 points while Trayvon Tyler finished with 14 points, six assists and four steals. Justin Robinson added 13 points while Terry Ford and Yahmir Muhammad scored 10 points apiece.

Richards was led by Juwuan Reed’s 14 points. Jaylan Catledge totaled a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Rockford Auburn will battle for the fifth-place trophy tomorrow (December 30) at 5:15 p.m. The Knights will face the winner of the DePaul Prep/Hinsdale Central contests while Richards will face the loser of the DePaul Prep/Hinsdale Central match tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
