HINSDALE, Ill. – Urban Prep Englewood edged Perspectives MSA 52-51 in a consolation game at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Urban Prep (4-7) led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter following a free throw from Davontae Williams with 4:30 left to play. Perspectives (4-7) chipped the lead down to eight points after three quarters and started to slowly chip away in the fourth before pulling even at 50-50 with 40 seconds remaining thanks to a layup from Marquan Williams. Davontae Williams hit a jumper with 18 seconds left to put Urban Prep Englewood back in front. Perspectives had one last chance to tie the game, but Marquan Williams split a pair of free throws to make the final score 52-51 in favor of Urban Prep.

Jayden Gatsby paced Urban Prep in the win, totaling a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Fred Cleveland II added 11 points while Davontae Williams scored eight. David Green pulled down 11 rebounds in the victory. Urban Prep enjoyed a 49-37 edge on the glass.

Marquan Williams led Perspectives in the loss, totaling 14 points and five rebounds. DeAndre Lightfoot chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.

Urban Prep Englewood will face Westinghouse tomorrow (December 30) at 11:00 a.m. Perspectives will play Hope Academy tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
