HINSDALE, Ill. - The Wheaton Academy Warriors put themselves back in the win column with a 65-51 victory over Schaumburg in the second round of the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Wheaton Academy (8-4) put itself in front for the final time thanks to a layup from Donell Ausley with under three minutes remaining in the third quarter. From that point on, the Warriors outscored the Saxons 27-14 to earn their first win of the tournament.

Hayden Schroeder paced the Warriors on both sides of the ball, finishing with 30 points, nine boards, three steals, and two blocks in 29 minutes of action. Ausley rounded out the double-digit scorers for Wheaton Academy, totaling 13 points, while as a team the Warriors shot 64.3 percent (27-of-42) from the floor and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the foul line.

The Saxons were led by Tony Horton who finished with 14 points. Ray Black and Cam Anderson followed closely behind with 13 and 12 points respectively. As a team, Schaumburg shot 41.2 percent (21-of-51) from the field and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from the charity stripe.

Wheaton Academy will face off against the winner of the Plainfield East/Lincoln-Way East game on Monday, Dec. 29 at 12:30 p.m., while Schaumburg will take on the loser of the same game at 9:30 a.m.
