HINSDALE, Ill. –Markese Peoples scored 23 points to lead St. Laurence to a 58-46 win over Brother Rice in the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic Championship game. The Vikings captured the championship trophy in their first year in the tournament.

St. Lauence (14-1) led from wire-to-wire, scoring the first eight points of the contest and never trailing. The Vikings built a 29-16 lead at the half and led by as many as 16 points before coming away with the 12-point victory.

Peoples led the way for the Vikings, tying the championship game scoring record with 24 points, shooting 10-of-15 from the floor. He finished with a double-double, collecting 10 rebounds while being named the tournament's MVP. Reggie Stevens added 13 points while Jeremiah Toney scored 11 for the Vikings. St. Laurence shot 46.3 percent (19-of-41) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from downtown while also outrebounding the Crusaders 32-20.

Brother Rice finished the game shooting 39.5 percent (15-of-38) from the floor. Adam McBrearty came off the bench to lead the Crusaders with 21 points, earning all-tournament honors in the process. Aiden Henderson added 11 points and five rebounds for the Crusaders.
