HINSDALE, Ill. –Kris Mporokoso scored 19 points, including a game-winning free throw with six seconds remaining to lead Waubonsie Valley to a 34-33 win over Lincoln-Way East in a consolation game of the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Waubonsie Valley (8-5) jumped out to a 10-3 lead after the first quarter, but Lincoln-Way East (5-8) answered back by ourscoring the Warriors 20-11 in the second quarter to build a 23-21 lead at the half.

The Griffins led early in the fourth quarters before Mporokoso scored six of Waubonsie Valley's seven points in the fourth quarter to lead Waubonsie Valley to the one-point victory.

Waubonise Valley shot 27.9 percent (12-of-43) from the floor, including 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from downtown. Mporokoso finished with 19 points, shooting 7-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. He was named to the all-tournament team for his efforts.

Lincoln-Way East shot 33.3 percent (12-of-36) from the floor and 26.1 percent from three-point distance (6-of-23). Jaymon Hornsby finished with 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Griffins in the lost.
