HINSDALE, Ill. –Alijah Little and KJ Miller combined for 32 points while leading Plainfield East past Hinsdale Central 66-57 in a consolation game of the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Plainfield East (10-5) scored the game's first bucket and never trailed, building a 16-6 lead after the first quarter and opening up a 34-22 lead at the half. The Bengals led by as many as 19 points in the second quarter before Hinsdale Central (5-8) mounted a comeback. The Red Devils closed to within five points early in the fourth quarter, before the Bengals pushed their lead up to 13 points with three minutes remaining on route to the nine-point win. Plainfield East shot 53.1 percent (26-of-49) from the floor, including 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from downtown. The Bengals outrebounded Hinsdale Central 41-31 and outscored the Red Devils 44-28 in the paint. Little led the Bengals in the win with 17 points and four assists. Miller finished with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists while earning a spot on the all-tournament team. Hinsdale Central shot 25.8 percent (16-of-62) in the loss. Cole Bero led the Red Devils with 15 points and six rebounds. Kristopher Dowell added 14 points in the loss. |
