HINSDALE, Ill. - The Lincoln-Way East Griffins erased a nine-point deficit midway through the third quarter to put themselves back in the win column with a 66-58 victory over Plainfield East in the second round of the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

A three-pointer from the game's leading scorer, KaiJay Brown, gave Lincoln-Way East (5-6) a 56-54 lead with just under three minutes remaining in the contest. The Griffins sealed the victory in the final minutes of the game by going 8-of-8 from the foul line.

KJ Miller led the way for Plainfield East (8-5) with 19 points and four assists. Nana Atakorah-Yanzy added in 10 points and two blocks in the loss, while the Bengals as a team shot 46.8 percent (22-of-47) from the floor and 58.8 percent (10-of-17) from the free throw line.

Brown paced the Griffins with 23 points, while Jonathan Aluyi, Aaron Stauffacher, and Oliver Lavin finished with 16, 12, and 11 points respectively. As a team, Lincoln-Way East shot 46.5 percent (20-of-43) from the field and 90.5 percent (19-of-21) from the charity stripe.

Lincoln-Way East will take on Wheaton Academy on Monday, Dec. 29 at 12:30 p.m., while Plainfield East and Schaumburg will face off at 9:30 a.m.
