HINSDALE, Ill. –Reggie Stevens’ 17 points guided St. Laurence to a 65-44 victory over Wheaton Academy in the opening round of the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. 

The Vikings defense held the Warriors to single digits in both the first and fourth quarters, outscoring Wheaton Academy (7-4), 36-15 over 16 minutes. 

St. Laurence’s (11-1) Noah Corro and Jeremiah Toney joined Stevens as double-digit performers, finishing with 11 and 10 points respectively. As a team, the Vikings shot 52.0 percent (26-of-50) from the floor and turned the Warriors 19 turnovers into 23 points. 

Hayden Schroeder paced the Warriors on both sides of the ball with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Ray Rienow rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points. Wheaton Academy shot 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the field and 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from the foul line. 

St. Laurence will face the winner of the Schaumburg/Burlington Central game on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 3:45 p.m. Wheaton Academy will take on the loser of the same game at 9:30 a.m. in the consolation bracket.

 

 

With the victory, Maine South will face the winner of the Brother Rice/St. Charles East contest in tomorrow’s quarterfinal at 3:45 p.m. Oswego East will face the loser of the Brother Rice/St. Charles East game tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
