TWO NEW TEAMS JOIN
2024 HINSDALE CENTRAL HOLIDAY CLASSIC
Two schools representing conferences that have never participated in the
Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic will join the field for the 2024 event.
The new teams include Burlington Central of the Fox Valley Conference and
Wheaton Academy from the Chicagoland Christian Conference. The field
of sixteen teams will represent 15 different conferences.
Central High School has amassed a record of 226-53 over the past nine
years. During that stretch, the Rockets have won four Class 3A
Regional Championships and have topped the 20-win plateau in eight seasons --
with the only exception coming during the 2020-21 Covid campaign.
Wheaton Academy has won 18 or more games in four of their last six full
seasons. This past year, the Warriors played mostly
underclassmen -- including a number of top prospects from the
Classes of 2026 and 2027.
Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic
Tournament Manager Joe Spagnolo was excited with the new additions, "To get
two quality rising programs, who are slightly under the radar, and represent
new conferences to our event, is exactly what we are looking for. We
welcome these two fine schools to our Holiday Classic
family."
The field of teams for the 2024 Holiday Classic includes four returning
conference champions, 11 teams that finished in the top three positions in
their conference, eight teams with 20 wins during the 2023-24 season, and
two teams that won 30 games this past year. The complete field
includes Brother Rice, Burlington Central, DePaul Prep, Hinsdale Central,
Lane Tech, Maine South, Marian Catholic, Morgan Park, Morton, Niles North,
Oswego East, Plainfield East, Rockford Auburn, Schaumburg, Saint Charles
East, and Wheaton Academy.
The 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic will be played on December 26, 27,
28 and 30 in the historic Hinsdale Bank Gymnasium. Additional
