HINSDALE, Ill. – Eight different players scored points as DePaul Prep rolled past Lincoln-Way Central 53-25 and into the quarterfinals of the 2023 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

DePaul Prep (12-0) led for over 29 minutes of action, building a 16-5 lead after the opening quarter and extending its lead to 33-12 at the half. The Rams led by as many as 34 points and cruised to the 28-point victory. DePaul shot 43.8 percent from the field, hitting on 21-of-48 attempts. The Rams also won the rebounding battle 35-24 and outscored Lincoln-Way Central (3-8) 32-12 in the paint.

Makai Kvamme led the Rams with 12 points, shooting 5-of-6 from the field in the win. Jaylan McElroy, Rashaun Porter and Gus Donohue all added nine points apiece for the Rams. McElroy added eight rebounds while Porter pulled down seven.

Lincoln-Way Central shot 23.1 percent (9-of-39) from the floor in the loss. Kevin Barrett and Lucas Anderson each totaled six points for the Knights.

DePaul Prep secured its spot in tomorrow’s 7:30 p.m. quarterfinal game against the winner of the Schaumburg/Hinsdale Central contest. Lincoln-Way Central will face the loser of the Schaumburg/Hinsdale Central contest in tomorrow’s consolation bracket at 12:30 p.m.
