HINSDALE, Ill. – DePaul Prep captured its first ever Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic Championship by defeating Marian Catholic 57-35 in the championship game.

DePaul Prep (15-0) led for the majority of the contest, turning a 13-12 lead after the first quarter into a 31-21 lead at the half. Marian Catholic (10-5) closed to within five points late in the third quarter, but DePaul Prep outscored the Spartans 18-3 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 57-35 win.

DePaul Prep shot 43.8 percent (21-of-48) from the floor and scored 19 points off of 12 Spartans’ turnovers. PJ Chambers earned all-tournament honors for the Rams after totaling a game-high 22 points and totaling eight rebounds. Jaylan McElroy was named the Tournament’s MVP after totaling 14 points and eight rebounds. Makai Kvamme added 12 points for the Rams.

Marian Catholic shot 31.0 percent (13-of-42) from the floor, but just 8.3 percent (1-of-12) from beyond the arc. Zack Sharkey scored six points and earned all-tournament honors for the Spartans. James Bullock finished with a team-high 11 points and six rebounds while Delan Davis scored nine.
