HINSDALE, Ill. – Stevenson took home the consolation championship of the 2023 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic by defeating Lincoln-Way Central 65-51.

Stevenson (9-5) jumped out quickly over Lincoln-Way Central, building a 21-10 lead after the opening quarter of play. The Patriots led by as many as 22 in the half and carried a 40-19 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Patriots shot 68.0 percent in the opening half, knocking down 17-of-25 shots, including 5-of-10 (50.0 percent) from beyond the arc.

Lincoln-Way Central (5-9) slowly chipped away at Stevenson’s lead in the second half, closing to within eight points with 2:30 remaining, but the Knights came no closer as Stevenson pulled away for the 14-point win.

Stevenson finished the game shooting 56.3 percent (27-of-48) from the floor in the win. The Patriots outrebounded the Knights 28-17 and outscored Lincoln-Way Central 40-26 in the paint. Aidan Bardic was named to the all-tournament team after leading Stevenson in the win with 15 points and seven assists. Atticus Richmond added 14 points and five rebounds while Armand Burris added 13 points and five rebounds. Rocco Pagliocca scored 11 while Jack Dabbs finished with nine points and 11 rebounds.
