HINSDALE, Ill. – Lane Tech scored the opening basket and led from wire-to-wire while defeating Morgan Park 71-37 in a consolation game of the 2023 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Lane Tech (10-7) scored the first three-points and never looked, building an 18-13 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 41-26 at the half. The Champions led by 28 after three quarters before cruising to the 34-point victory.

Lane Tech shot 54.0 percent (27-of-50) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (6-of-16) from three-point distance. The Champions outrebounded Morgan Park (6-8) 36-25 and outscored the Mustangs 38-16 in the paint. Dalton Scantlebury led the way for Lane Tech with 16 points and eight rebounds. Shaheed Solebo added 10 points while Zach Mazanowski added nine points and nine rebounds.

Morgan Park shot 29.2 percent from the field, hitting 14-of-48 attempts. Jacque Lewis paced the Mustangs in the loss with 10 points. Kelly Taylor came off the bench to score eight points for the Mustangs.
