HINSDALE, Ill. – Chase Monkemeyer tied the single-game tournament scoring record by scoring 36 points to lead St. Charles East past Westinghouse 62-58 in a consolation game of the 2019 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

St. Charles East (7-5) grabbed control of the lead midway through the first quarter, building an 18-13 lead after one. The Saints did not trail for the remainder of the game, outscoring Westinghouse (5-9) 16-9 in the second quarter to open up a 12-point halftime lead. The Saints led by nine after three quarters and held off a late rally from the Warriors to score the four-point win.

Monkemeyer tied the single-game scoring record by pumping in 36 points, shooting 13-of-18 from the floor, including 5-of-5 from downtown. The Saints shot 42.9 percent (24-of-56) from the floor in the win, including 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from beyond the arc.

Westinghouse shot 34.9 percent (22-of-63) from the floor, including 36.4 percent (8-of-ff2) from three-point distance. Devin Davis led the Warriors in the loss with 22 points. Tyrin Kidd added 12 points for Westinghouse.
