2019 GAME 12 RECAP: RICHARDS 73, HINSDALE CENTRAL 64

HINSDALE, Ill. – Richards held off a late rally from Hinsdale Central to score a 73-64 win in the consolation bracket of the 2019 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Richards (7-4) built an 18-16 lead after one quarter and then outscored Hinsdale Central (3-6) 19-6 in the second to build a 37-22 lead at the half. Richards led 55-42 entering the fourth quarter. Hinsdale Central slowly chipped away at the Bulldogs’ lead, using a 14-3 run to close to within three points (65-62) with three minutes remaining. Richards scored the next eight points to push its lead back to 11 points before closing out the nine-point win.

Richards shot 44.6 percent (25-of-56) from the floor including 30.8 percent (4-of-13) from downtown. The Bulldogs converted 22 Hinsdale Central turnovers into 29 points. Anthony Taylor led the charge with 21 points while Albert Jones finished with 20. KaJuan Wines finished with 13 for the Bulldogs.

Hinsdale Central shot 40.6 percent (26-of-64) from the floor and outrebounded the Bulldogs 42-29. Ryan Isaacson scored 24 points while totaling six rebounds and four blocked shots. Mac Quast added 10 points for the Red Devils.

With the win, Richards will face T.F. South in tomorrow’s consolation bracket semifinal at 2:00 p.m. Hinsdale Central will take on Willowbrook tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
