2018 GAME 29 RECAP: Stevenson 60, Hinsdale Central 37 (Consolation Title)

HINSDALE, Ill. – Stevenson led from wire-to-wire in a 60-37 win over Hinsdale Central in the consolation bracket championship game at the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Stevenson (12-3) scored the first four points of the contest and never trailed, building a quick 15-5 lead after the first quarter and leading 26-17 at the half. The Patriots outscored Hinsdale Central (4-8) 17-6 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 20 points after 24 minutes. The Patriots would lead by as many as 26 points before cruising to the 23-point win.

Stevenson shot 61.1 percent (22-of-36) from the floor, including 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from downtown. John Ittounas led the way with 14 points and five assists while Matt Kaznikov chipped in with 10 points. Evan Ambrose came off the bench to score eight while Luke Chieng dished out eight assists.

Hinsdale Central shot 35.0 percent (14-of-40) from the floor in the loss. Matthew Rush led the Red Devils with 10 points.
