2018 GAME 17 RECAP: Glenbrook North 53, Urban Prep Englewood 28

HINSDALE, Ill. – Nine different players totaled points to lead Glenbrook North to a 53-28 win over Urban Prep Englewood in a consolation game of the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Glenbrook North (8-7) jumped out to a 14-8 lead after the first quarter and lead 30-29 at the half. The Spartans continues to pull away in the second half, outscoring Urban Prep Englewood (0-8) 19-5 in the third quarter to take a 26-point lead into the fourth. The Spartans led by as many as 28 before cruising to the 25-point victory.

The Spartans shot 38.5 percent (20-of-52) from the floor, including 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from three-point range. The Spartans converted 14 Urban Prep Englewood turnovers into 15 points and outscored the Lions 24-10 in the paint.

Brian Johnson led Glenbrook North with a game-high 18 points. David Mirochnick and Alex Press added nine points apiece for the Spartans. Press collected a game-high nine rebounds in the victory while Mirochnick dished out six assists.

Urban Prep Englewood shot 26.3 percent (10-of-38) from the floor and struggled from downtown, hitting just 1-of-11 attempts (9.1 percent). Sean Faulkner led the way for the Lions with 10 points.

Glenbrook North will face the winner of the Westinghouse/Maine South game tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Urban Prep Englewood will take on the loser of the Westinghouse/Maine South game tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
