2017 GAME SIX RECAP: Bolingbrook 53, Urban Prep Englewood 36

HINSDALE, Ill. – Bolingbrook outscored Urban Prep Englewood 32-19 in the second half en route to a 53-36 win and a spot in the quarterfinals of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

The tournament’s defending champion from 2016, Bolingbrook (8-1) overcame a slow start to pull away from Urban Prep Englewood (7-1) in the second half. The Raiders did the bulk of their damage in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 15-3 while opening up a 16-point cushion. The Raiders led by as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter before coasting to the 17-point win.

Bolingbrook shot 51.2 percent from the floor, including 63.6 percent (7-of-11) in the third quarter. The Raiders dominated the game inside, outrebounding the Lions 38-28 and outscoring the Lions 30-14 in the lane.

Tyler Cochran paced Bolingbrook with 14 points and nine rebounds, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. Kaleb Thornton added 13 points while Joseph Yesufu, Jordan Myrick and Demari Grant totaled eight points apiece.

Urban Prep Englewood struggled with its shooting, hitting just 26.4 percent (14-of-53) of its shots. DeVonte Williams led the lions with 10 points while Eddie Anderson scored eight.

Urban Prep Englewood will face Glenbrook North in tomorrow’s consolation game at 12:30 p.m. Bolingbrook will face Rockford Auburn in tomorrow’s 7:00 p.m. quarterfinal contest.
