2017 GAME 31 RECAP: Lincoln Park 60, DePaul Prep 46 (Third Place)

HINSDALE, Ill. – Lincoln Park scored the first points of the game and never trailed, downing DePaul Prep 60-46 to take home the third-place trophy at the 2017 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic,

Lincoln Park (11-4) scored the first four points before carrying an 11-10 lead into the second quarter. The Lions extended their lead to five (24-19) at the half and 11 points early in the third quarter. DePaul Prep (11-3) answered back in the third, pulling to within three points with 2:45 remaining. The Rams trailed Lincoln Park by five (36-31) after three quarters.

Leading by just three points early in the fourth, Lincoln Park scored the next 10 points to open up a 13-point advantage and seize control of the game. The Lions led by as many as 17 in the quarter while cruising to the 14-point win.

Three players reached double figures in scoring to pace the Lions. Terrence Shannon led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Roberts added 12 points and Bill Flowers scored 11. Tahir Thompson added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win. The Lions shot 54.3 percent (25-of-46) in the win, including 50.0 percent (4-of-8) from three-point distance. Lincoln Park outrebounded the Rams 35-23 and outscore DePaul 40-28 in the paint.

Perry Cowan paced DePaul in the loss, scoring 22 points while shooting 10-of-27 from the floor. Raheem Anthony added 12 points for the Rams. DePaul shot 33.3 percent (18-of-54) from the floor in the loss.
