2017 GAME 17 RECAP: Crete-Monee 63, Richards 47

HINSDALE, Ill. – Malik Hardmon totaled a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Crete-Monee to a 63-47 win over Richards in a consolation game of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Richards (5-6) raced out to an 18-12 after the first quarter and the bulldogs led 31-27 at the half. Crete-Monee (8-6) turned the tables in the second half, outscoring Richards 16-7 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 16-point victory.

Hardmon led Crete-Monee with a game-high double-double of 26 points and 10 boards. He shot 9-of-15 from the field and 8-of-11 from the foul line. Tyrese Hunt added 12 points while Joshua Evans added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors.  Crete-Monee shot 48.9 percent (22-of-45) from the floor and outscored Richards 32-18 in the paint.

Albert Jones paced Richards in the loss with 14 points while Trevon Jones (13 points, nine rebounds) and Paul Zilinskas (10 points) also reached double figures in scoring. Richards shot just 32.6 percent (15-of-46) from the floor in the loss.

Richards will face the loser of the Hinsdale Central/Urban Prep Englewood contest in a consolation game slated for tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Crete-Monee will take on the winner of the Hinsdale Central/Urban Prep Englewood game tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
