2017 GAME 12 RECAP: Marian Catholic 61, Hinsdale Central 40

HINSDALE, Ill. – Three players reached double figures in scoring to lead Marian Catholic past Hinsdale Central 61-40 and into the consolation semifinals of the 2017 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Marian Catholic (8-2) scored the game’s first eight points and never trailed in the contest, building a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and a 32-15 lead at the half. Marian led by as many as 26 points before cruising to the 21-point win.

Marian Catholic shot 62.5 percent (25-of-40) from the floor, including 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from three-point distance. Malik Tidwell paced Marian Catholic with 14 points while Tim Jones and Ahron Ullis added 13 points apiece. Ullish finished with nine assists while Tidwell distributed six assists. Alec Dinwiddie added seven points and eight rebounds in the win.

Hinsdale Central (2-7) shot 28.9 percent (13-of-45) from the floor in the loss and was outscored 32-12 in the paint. Trevor Hamilton led the Red Devils with 10 points while Matthew Rush scored eight.

Hinsdale Central takes on Urban Prep Englewood in a consolation game at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. Marian Catholic will meet Glenbrook North in the consolation semifinals scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
