2017 GAME 11 RECAP: Glenbrook North 49, Urban Prep Engwood 46

HINSDALE, Ill. – Max Knebelkamp hit a game-winning three-pointer to life Glenbard North past Urban Prep Englewood 49-46 and into the consolation semifinals of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Glenbard North (9-3) had an eight-point lead slip away in the final two minutes as Urban Prep Englewood (7-2) used an 8-0 run over 1:20to pull even at 46-46 after a Sean Falkner layup with 20 seconds left.

Kenebelkamp knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with seven seconds left on a Frank Siegen

The Spartans led 16-9 after the first quarter but Urban Prep Englewood outscored Glenbrook North 16-8 in the second to take a 25-24 lead at the half.

Glenbrook North was led by Evan Barnes’ 14 points and seven assists. Siegen added 11 points while Kenebelkamp finished with eight points. The Spartans shot 55.9 percent (19-of-34) from the floor, including 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from downtown.

Core’del Lott led the Lions in the loss with 14 points while Sean Faulkner dropped in 11. The Lions shot 40.9 percent (18-of-44) from the floor in the loss.

Urban Prep Englewood will face the loser of the Hinsdale Central/Marian Catholic game in a consolation contest 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. Glenbrook North will face the winner of the Hinsdale Central/Marian Catholic contest in tomorrow’s consolation semifinal scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
