2016 GAME FOUR RECAP: BOLINGBROOK 78, GLENBROOK NORTH 45

HINSDALE, Ill. - Bolingbrook shot 64.0 percent from the floor while cruising past Glenbrook North 78-45 in the opening round of the 2016 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Bolingbrook (7-0) and Glenbrook North (6-6) battled to a 15-15 tie after the first quarter before Bolingbrook took control. Leading by just two with 4:30 remaining in the opening half, the Raiders closed the half on an 11-0 run to carry a 34-21 lead into the locker room at the half. The momentum continued in the second half as an 11-2 run quickly gave Bolingbrook a 20-point cushion. The Raiders continued to pull away, building a 30-point cushion and leading by 28 after three quarters before coasting to the 33-point win in the fourth.

Malik Binns powered Bolingbrook in the win, finishing with a team-leading 21 points while shooting 8-of-10 from the floor. He added a game-high eight rebounds in the victory. Joseph Yesufu and Kaleb Thornton added 12 points apiece in the victory with Thornton dishing out a team-best six assists.

Bolingbrook finished the contest shooting 64.0 percent (32-of-50) and pounded the ball inside, outscoring Glenbrook North in the paint 62-28.

Glenbrook North finished the contest shooting just 35.3 percent (18-of-51) from the field, including 25.0 percent (4-of-16) from beyond the arc. Max Knebelkamp came off the bench to score a team-leading nine points. James Karis added seven points for the Spartans.

Bolingbrook will face Westinghouse in Wednesday’s quarterfinal at 5:15 p.m. Glenbrook North will take on Maine South in a consolation game on Wednesday (December 28) at 11:00 a.m.
