HINSDALE, Ill. - Richards closed out its 2016 trip to the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with a 57-56 win over Urban Prep Englewood in a consolation game.

Richards (6-6) led 24-23 at the half after an evenly-matched first 16 minutes. The Bulldogs started to pull away in the third quarter, using an 9-1 run to turn a one-point cushion into a nine-point lead with just 48 seconds left in the quarter.

Urban Prep (7-5) stormed back in the fourth quarter. Trailing by nine with seven minutes to play, the Lions used a 12-2 run to surge in front at 46-45 with 3:22 left. The lead was short-lived as a three-pointer from Juwan Reed but Richards back in front for good. The Bulldogs pushed their lead to as many as seven points with 28 seconds, before Urban Prep pulled to within a point on a buzzer-beating three-pointer.

Richards shot 42.6 percent (20-of-47) from the floor, including 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from downtown. Jaylan Catledge led the Bulldogs in the loss with 11 points and nine rebounds, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. Rico Griffin added 12 points for the Bulldogs.

Urban Prep shot 36.0 percent (18-of-50) from the field, including 6-of-21 (28.6 percent) from beyond the arc. Jace Lee and Donald Taylor scored seven points apiece for the Lions.
