2016 GAME TEN RECAP: MAINE SOUTH 48, GLENBROOK NORTH 31

HINSDALE, Ill. - Maine South punched its ticket to the consolation semifinal of the 2016 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with a 48-31 win over Glenbrook North.

Maine South (6-5) never trailed in the contest building a five-point cushion after the first quarter and slowly pulling away from Glenbrook North (6-7). The Hawks extended their cushion to 14 points (25-11) at the break.

The Hawks scored the first seven points of the third quarter to open up a commanding 21-point cushion. Maine South led by as many as 23 points before coasting to the 17-point victory.

Maine South shot an even 50.0 percent (18-of-36) from the floor, including 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from long distance. Grant Miller paced the Hawks in the victory, finishing with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Michael George added eight points while Filip Bulatovic added six points.

Glenbrook North struggled with its shooting, hitting just 29.3 percent (12-of-41) of its shots. The Spartans were cold from long range, hitting just 4-of-25 attempts (16.0 percent) from three-point distance. James Karis led Glenbrook in the loss with nine points.

Maine South will face St. Charles East in Thursday's consolation semifinal at 12:30 p.m. Glenbrook North takes on Urban Prep in a consolation game on Thursday (December 29) at 9:30 a.m.
